Even at the age of 15, Alexander Kurz knew that he wanted to become a real estate agent. Along with his father and a friend, he shared a passion for modern architecture, as well as an appreciation of old buildings and the art of masonry. In 1976, at only 25 years of age, he founded the company “Immobilienkanzlei Alexander Kurz”, which initially operated in a space of 10 m² and employed only one part-time worker. Determination, people skills, sure instincts and, above all, a passion for the profession are factors that led to early success.

After only one year in business, the company relocated to a 70m² large office in the AVA-Hof in 1977. This office also soon became too small and had to be expanded to 120 m² in the year 1980. The office’s expansion to four employees and the first edition of the meanwhile traditional real estate journal were only two of the external signs of the company’s growing success. Alexander Kurz concentrated on attractive real estate: From luxurious penthouses in the city to exclusive lakeside properties and farmhouses to upscale estates or charming mansions – the extensive portfolio of the young businessman showed its true character at an early stage; a character that it has kept until today.

By 1987 it was decided that the office in the AVA-Hof was definitely too small, so the office was moved to Wäschergasse in the Nonntal district of Salzburg. 1988 is the year in which Alexander Kurz married his wife Heideswinth Barta, soon after which his two sons were born: Alexander (1989) and Clemens (1991). The couple meanwhile built themselves a modern home, in which the office was then also located, in the Salzburg district of Thumegg. This concept of living and working in the same building is a principle to which Alexander Kurz has remained faithful. Thus, despite lots of work, he is also able to spend lots of time with his family.

The house in Thumegg increasingly became a meeting point for interesting people. As a member of various clubs and associations, as a sponsor of cultural establishments, as a golfer, sailing enthusiast and Rotarian, he was always able to create networks between people and fulfil the expectations and demands of his clients in and around Salzburg.

When the office space in Thumegg also became too small, both the family and the office relocated to a newly built, larger house near Hellbrunner Allee in the year 2000. In the year 2005, this large office also had to be expanded in order to make room for the constantly growing business.
In the year 2011, Alexander Kurz celebrated 35 years of successful business. He invited 600 friends, business partners and satisfied clients to the Karl-Böhm-Saal in the Haus für Mozart.
